EXTRA! EXTRA! NEWSBOYS SCRIPT FINISHED!!

We are so excited to be presenting our first completely original new musical! Based on the historical events surrounding the newsboys strike of 1899 this gritty, yet charming adventure features a cast of unlikely characters, bloodpumping drama, and a great new score! If you are interested in being a part of this really cool project we are still looking for volunteers (13 and up) to serve as costumers, set crew and technicians! Contact Mark at Family Theatre Warehouse for more information!

Well kids I am still working on getting the new music up for your listening and rehearsal pleasure but here are a couple of great links to find out about the history behind this exciting story!

*Here's a great site with lots of details about the actual Newsboys lodging house!

*Here's one about the actual Mother Heig and her husband, the superintendant of the lodging house!

That's all for now, but stay tuned for upcoming images of the set design, excerpts from the script and more!

Congrats are in order to several of our academy students! First up is Karen Garlitz who recently earned a role at Stage Door Theatre in Yukon's upcoming production of I Remember Momma!

Alyssa Stewart, Michael and Carolyn Mueller, Ryan Pennington, Elizabeth, Asher and Abby Morris were among the FTA students receiving roles in the Family Theatre Group's Musical! Those of you who didn't make it Saturday for the audition really missed out!

A little belated but worthy of praise, Destiny Washington auditioned and was accepted into the drama program at Classen School of Advanced Studies for next Fall, way to go Destiny!

Make your plans now to attend one of our great Summer camps and watch your talent skyrocket! For those ten and up our two week intensive music theatre camp is just the ticket! Imagine two whole weeks of singing, dancing and acting fun! Plus crazy team competition and a live performance to top it all off, it's the hottest fun you can have in an air conditioned theatre and a great way to spend two weeks of well earned Summer vacation!

For you younger superstars we have three great camps planned with loads of fun! Also check back here for info on a new science camp we are offering in partnership with Mad Science!

Tickets, tickets, tickets will be on sale soon. There is an awesome prize in the offering for those who sell the most seats, we will be ready to announce it soon, and I promise it is the coolest prize yet!

Hello Neighbors!

Hello Boys and Girls, it’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood! We had our first review on Tuesday, and another round on Thursday, so far so good! Kids, please keep working on those lines, choreography, lyrics and blocking! It seems a few of you lost touch with the old rehearsal schedule over Spring Break, huh?

We are starting a new project here at FTA! It will end with HUGE lockin / party featuring movies, karaoke, a Smash Brothers Wii tournament and lots and lots of fun! We will be screening the film versions of our upcoming Summer camp! And the Fall academy show NEWSBOYS!
Newsboys! is going to be the biggest thing we have done since moving to the warehouse! There is no available script so we are writing our own ! A world premier! The score and story will be tremendous and I am sure you will all want to be a part.

Tickets for all Family Theatre Warehouse shows are now available online for a nominal service fee from Okctickets.com . This allows us to sell by phone and accept credit cards for ticket purchases. Don’t worry cash (or check) sales through our box office (picking them up at the studio) will not be charged the convenience fee, but be sure to check it out at okctickets.com.
Tickets will be available soon and a sales contest will be held! There is a HUGE prize being offered for the first place seller in each class, but you will have to come to work day Saturday to hear the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!
Be sure to check out the new "virtual tour" of our home away from home (yes I mean the studio) at FamilyTheatreWarehouse.com
over in the right hand column, pretty cool, huh?

There will be a work day this Saturday from 10-2 at the studio. We will be working on several general theatre projects , so grab a parent and come on out! (students under twelve must be accompanied by an adult helper) Bye Neighbor!

Fun stuff at dramorama.com!

If you have never checked out the education wing of this little blog library you are in for a treat, but even for those who have there are lots of new goodies in every department at dramorama.com.

Spring Break is well under way and the rain just won't give us a break, maybe tomorrow.

No class this week for the cast of High School Musical, so we will see you next Tuesday and Thursday! Enjoy your time off as I know you will.

Be sure to make plans to come and see All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten coming up in three weeks, tickets are now on sale and current students get in free with a paid adult admission!

Make plans now for Summer Camp, it is gonna rock! (and roll, after all its the sixties)

Mark has finally published his second play Advice Form a Busboy you can find it here, there is a twelve page preview if you click on the link above the book cover, be sure to check it out and leave a rating and review. We are in the process of recruiting a cast to do a staged reading, we'll keep you posted!
